How to Choose Building Chemicals Sand
Several properties determine the right sand for building chemicals. A controlled grain distribution directly affects the product's consistency and workability; a consistent gradation gives the same result from batch to batch. Low moisture is critical so that it does not disrupt the reaction of cement- and polymer-based systems and preserves shelf life; for this reason dry sand is used. A low clay content strengthens the bond with the binder and increases the final strength. High grain hardness (Mohs 7) raises the abrasion resistance of the applied surface. Sand of uniform colour ensures a consistent appearance, especially on visible surfaces.
Recommended Fractions for Building Chemicals
