Filter Quartz
High-purity, bright white-grey angular quartz filter medium for drinking-water treatment. Long service life filtration thanks to high SiO₂ purity.

What is Filter Quartz?
Filter quartz is a bright white-grey, angular quartz filter medium for applications that demand high purity in drinking-water treatment. With a SiO₂ content of approximately 99.8%, our product delivers long-lasting, efficient filtration without releasing any foreign matter into the water. It is processed in compliance with TS EN 12904 at our facilities in the Trakya region.
Filter quartz is an angular-grained filter medium produced from high-purity quartz and used in water-treatment beds. Its typical SiO₂ content is ≈99.8% and its low iron content minimises the risk of SiO₂ or impurity leaching into the water. With a Mohs hardness of 7 and a density of 2.65 g/cm³, the product is supplied in the 0.6–1.2 mm range and serves as the high-purity layer in multimedia filters.

Where is it used?
Thanks to its high purity, it provides a safe and efficient filtration layer in drinking-water treatment.
Used as a high-purity quartz filter medium in sensitive processes where SiO₂ leaching is not acceptable.
In multimedia filters, it works together with other media to deliver layered filtration performance.

What is the difference between filter quartz and filter sand?
Filter quartz has higher purity (SiO₂ ≈ 99.8%) and an angular grain structure, making it suitable for sensitive applications where SiO₂ leaching is not acceptable. Filter sand, on the other hand, is an economical solution for general water treatment to TS EN 12904.
In what grain size is filter quartz supplied?
It is typically supplied in the 0.6–1.2 mm range; different fractions can be considered according to system requirements.
Where does quartz sit in a multimedia filter?
High-purity quartz is used as one of the fine filtration layers in multimedia filters.
